NORDIC TEXTILE ART (NTA)

An association with the name Nordiskt Galleri för Textil Konst (Nordic Gallery for Textile Art) was formed in 2006, a. o. in order to make textile art visible in the Nordic art scene. A first Nordic seminar was held in August 2006 in Hunnebostrand/Sweden. A Nordic Textile Advisory Board with two members each from Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Denmark was chosen. In Sept/Oct. 2007 several textile exhibitions and a seminar took place at the Borås Textile Museum. There now is a website www.nordictextileart.net with a catalogue of the Borås exhibition „Textile light“ in pdf format.
The former organisation Swedish Textile Network (STN) focusing on textile art, textile heritage and textile education does not exist any longer. Instead the above initiative took the part of promoting textile art only, but on a wider level beyond national borders.
